Meet the Candidate:
Karla Daniels Hooper
I came to Georgia in 1992 as a young college student at Emory University. Since then, I have called Georgia home for the past 33 years. I have served as a Grant writer and Executive Director for the Diabetes Association of Atlanta. I have been an active resident of Covington, Georgia for 22 years. My commitment to our community is unwavering. I have witnessed the changes in the neighborhoods, streets, and overall quality of life, but I remain because I love my community. I believe that change comes from within. We do not have to seek comfort and peace outside of our own backyards.
This is why I will be your new Georgia State Representative for District 113. I believe in Newton County. It is time to develop real plans, with real action, and for real change. I have worked with our local neighbors and government to make the following changes from the ground up.
- Stopped the construction of two gas stations in District 113
- Stopped the construction of a Dollar General in District 113
- Serve on the Newton County Comprehensive Planning Committee
- Created a draft plan for transforming District 113
- Serve on the Newton County Animal Services Board
- Serve as a minister with a special focus on empowering women and youth
Now is the time to act. We love our homes, family and community. I will continue to work with you to make sure that words become plans, Plans become ACTION and ACTIONS lead to RESULTS.
These Results Include:
- New restaurant options
- Clean Roads and Streets
- Less warehouses, storage units and gas stations
- Sidewalks for walkable communities
- Affordable and quality homes
- Planned development with neighbors in mind
I am excited about the potential of Newton County. Our district deserves better and we are on our way to have better. Thank you for your support,
Karla Daniels Hooper
